Health Mistakes You Should Start Avoiding Right Away

Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, or 40s, your life changes with every phase in life. You need to stay fit and healthy to keep up with these changes. However, many of us make the mistake of prioritizing everything over our health. And this only means that we’re damaging our health without even realizing it.

Everything we do creates an impact on our health. While many of us are health conscious and try to avoid certain things that ruin our health; there are still a lot of things which we do in our daily lifestyle, without even considering the serious and harmful consequences of those habits.

Exercising Too Much- The more you spend time exercising the better it is, right? Wrong. Exercising regularly is a must for everybody but many of us tend to do it too much and finally, it ends up ruining our health. If you work your body too hard it can lead to a weaker immune system, muscle damage. Over-exercising causes abnormal hormonal changes and causes physical pain. So, everything should be in proportion. One hour of yoga and gym could do work.

Excessive Use of Gadgets- Electronic gadgets have become an inseparable part of our life and we often spend a lot of time using those gadgets. But this habit ruins our health a lot and leads us to insomnia, eye disease, fatigue, obesity, body pain, depression, and several other health issues. The most common health problem is neck pain because people tilt their heads forward while using a phone. Tilting the head for too long causes repeated stress and pain, and the neck is supposed to have a natural curve. So, try restricting the use of gadgets and avoid keeping your smartphone by the bed while sleeping.

Skipping Breakfast- This is one of the biggest mistakes many of us make in our daily life. Starting a day without breakfast is like driving a car with low fuel in the tank. Having a heavy breakfast fills our body with energy, maintains blood sugar level, improves metabolism, reduces the risks of several diseases including heart attack, stroke, etc. and improves our overall health activities. Skipping breakfast on a regular basis could lead to obesity, increases the risk of diabetes, and ruins overall health.

Sitting All Day Long- With busy work schedules, it becomes difficult for us to find activities throughout the day. Most of us work in sedentary jobs that require us to sit all day. Be it our desk at the office or sofa in our drawing room, sitting for a too long time damages our health a lot. Along with ruining our body posture, it leads to weight gain and increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. To avoid these problems, try taking frequent breaks and take a walk.

Consuming Too Much Caffeine- Excessive caffeine intake overstimulates the adrenal glands so that they become ‘switched on’ all the time and therefore make you feel constantly nervy or edgy. While a small amount of caffeine intake is absolute of no harm, consuming too much caffeine increases our heart rate, disrupts our sleep schedule, causes headaches and stomach pain.

Not Sleeping Enough- Research has found that a lack of sleep can cause serious health consequences no matter how to fit and healthy you are. Sleep is a very important activity as all the parts in our body need rest to function properly. Skipping sleep or not sleeping enough on a daily basis increases the risk of several diseases such as cancer, heart attack, memory loss, and depression. Six to eight hours of sleep every night is recommended for great health.

Sleeping In Your Makeup- Keeping your makeup on when you go to bed does more than stain your pillowcase. It clogs your pores and causes breakouts. So make sure you take all that makeup off before you hit the bed.
