Dealing with oily skin can be frustrating especially in summers. Oily skin looks greasy and more prone to acne. Although oily skin is not that bad as we feel. Having some face oil is good for skin tone.
Oily skin is the result of sebaceous glands which produces sebum. Sebum is the oily substance that moisturizes and hydrates the skin. However, too much sebum can lead to oily skin which results in acne, clogged pores and easily attracts to dirt and pollution.

Treating oily skin is not an easy task. I also have oily skin and I know the struggle one has to go through. Oily skin treatment can be tricky but not impossible. If you maintain a regime then you can manage your skin oil perfectly without getting frustrated.
1- Wash Your Face Twice A Day
Washing face can reduce the amount of oil on the skin. Do not use harsh and chemical products that can irritate your skin. Although the oil backs up after a few hours but do not over wash your face again and again. This will produce more oil. Clean your face with water only but do not use soaps and face wash more than two times a day.
2- Use Gentle Cleansers and Toners
Use cleaners that a gentle on your skin. Try it on your hand before buying any product. Use alcohol-free products. Alcohol dries out skin and removes all oil from the skin and damages it later. Never use lemon face wash and cleaners. It excessively dries out skin and even takes out the oil which is required to keep the skin nourished. So, always choose mild products. After cleanser, use a mild alcohol-free toner to remove impurities. Toner tightens the open pores and soothes the skin.
3- Always Pat Dry Your Face
Always remember to pat dry your face. Whenever you wash or cleanse your face never rub it with a towel and any other cloth. Rubbing with a towel is a no-go. Rubbing irritates skin and tends to prone more acne.
4- Blotting Paper
Blotting papers are specially designed for absorbing oil without drying out the skin. Blotting paper will absorb excess oil and shine from your skin without disturbing oil glands. When you rub some paper or cloth against your skin, oil glands become active and start producing more oil. So, never-ever rub anything on your face.
5- Moisturizer Is Essential
Many people think that using moisturizer for oily skin will make it look greasier. But using oil-free moisturizer is good to keep skin hydrated and nourished. For protection from UV rays, use a moisturizer with SPF 30 or more.
6- Exfoliate
Exfoliating helps to prevent pores from clogging. Oily skin tends to attract more dust and pollution than any other skin. Small dust particles stick on face oil. Make-up also leaves clogged pores. Exfoliating skin will make skin clean and soothing. Do not over-exfoliate. Over exfoliating can dry out the skin and will produce more oil.
