The Batman Returns Again – Production Resumes After Actor’s COVID Report

The filming of the movie is now expected to complete with the production resuming post a rollercoaster ride of halts and resumes.

The production of “The Batman” resumed on 1 September after the industry had shut down in March. But, this time, it didn’t last too long and was put on another halt just three days after. The temporary shut down of the production occurred due to suspected COVID-19 cases among the cast and crew.

Covid-19 Reports and the Production

Vanity Fair earlier reported that Robert Pattinson, who plays Batman in the movie, had tested positive. But neither the studio nor the representatives for Pattinson ever confirmed this news. Reports say all the cast and crew members who were in close contact with Robin Pattinson quarantined themselves. And exactly after two weeks, the production of the movie has resumed outside of London, England.

A brief report from MuggleNet stated, “Robert Pattinson is doing great. Filming will commence late next week.” Warner Bros confirmed that the production is back to work at Leavesden Studio, but it is not yet confirmed if the actor Robert Pattinson is back. Reports claim that the actor was spotted kissing his girlfriend in London on Wednesday.

About the Movie

The movie’s story is based on the comic book adventure “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” The cast members of the film include Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Penguin, and Andy Serkis as Alfred. Peter Sarsgaard, John Turturro, and Jeffrey Wright are also a part of the casting team. The director is Matt Reeves. Even though only 25% of the movie has been shot, the official trailer of the film was released in August. The original schedule for the movie’s release was 25 June 2021. However, because of the delay in the production, the film is now expected to release on 1 October 2021.

Earlier it was also speculated that anything that does not involve Pattinson would be shot. Besides, Matt Reeves was also supposed to be using Robert’s body double for a few scenes. However, the director hasn’t confirmed any such thing.

The official filming of the movie commenced in mid-February at the cemetery in Glasglow Necropolis. Warner Bros decided to shift the production from London to Liverpool for continuing the shoot. Soon after that, the filming shut down in March due to COVID-19.

Other projects have also resumed in the UK, including Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. And projects that started shooting elsewhere in Europe include “The Matrix 4”, “Jurassic World: Domination,” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”
