Taylor Swift to Sing “Betty” Live at ACM Awards – First in 7 Years

After 2013, Taylor is performing for the first time at a Country Awards show

Are you a Taylor Swift fan? Then, here’s a reason to rejoice as the country-turned-pop star will be performing her hit “Betty” at the Academy of Country Music Awards. This will be Swift’s first-time performance in 7 years. Besides, it will also be her world premiere performance for any song from the “folklore” album.

Betty – Records of the Track

Taylor Swift’s song “Betty” is listed at #6 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list. The track has also been topping the spot in Billboard 200 album charts for six weeks. “Betty” is officially released in a Country format, unlike Swift’s previous albums, none of which were pushed to Country radio. Herein, “would you tell me to go straight to hell” replaces “would you tell me to go f—k myself.”

Her last performance at Country Music Award Show was in 2013. Back then, she performed with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban on “Highway don’t care.” The same year she also performed her song “Red” at the CMA awards with Vince Gill and Alison Krauss.

ACM Award Show Schedule

Earlier, the 2020 ACM award show was scheduled to be held in April in Las Vegas. However, Covid-19 forced a reschedule, and it will now happen in the home of Country’s music in September. In the history of 55 years, it’s happening for the first time that Nashville is hosting the ACM Awards. Those who won’t be able to visit the venue to see the awards event can see a live broadcast. The broadcast will happen from three venues, Grand Ole Oort House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, and The Bluebird Café.

Taylor Swift made an Instagram post to announce the news on Sunday, along with a promo. She wrote, “Bout to show up at your party @acmawards.” She will be performing from the stage of the Grand Ole Oprah House, which is one of the home base venues used for ACMs this year.

Swift has been a nine-time ACM award winner and two time ACM entertainer of the year. Even though the singer did not perform after 2013 but showed up at ACMs in 2015 to receive an award. Besides, she also appeared at CMAs as an award presenter.

The ACM Awards will broadcast on CBS on Wednesday at 8 P.M. ET/PT and 7 CT, and Keith Urban will be hosting the event. There are other performances scheduled for the day too. Those include Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Maren Morris, Blake Shelton with Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, and Dan + Shay.
